At HT Physio, we understand that no two bodies are the same, and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution to pain. Our expert physiotherapists will work closely with you to develop a tailored treatment plan that fits your unique needs. Whether you require hands-on massage, shockwave therapy, acupuncture, ultrasound, or custom 3D-printed orthotics, we’re dedicated to helping you get back to living life to the fullest.
Physiotherapy is a comprehensive treatment designed to ease pain and improve mobility through exercises, hands-on therapy, and other rehabilitation techniques. In recent years, many physiotherapy practices and national health services have shifted towards a more ‘hands-off’ approach, focusing more on prescribing exercises and less on manual therapy. However, we know that the power of healing hands is at the core of what we do.
Our approach emphasises hands-on therapy as a vital tool for both diagnosis and treatment. Through this hands-on approach, we can accurately assess your condition, tailor a treatment plan, and apply proven techniques to ease tension, improve mobility, and facilitate healing.
Shockwave therapy uses sound waves to stimulate healing in tendons, ligaments, and muscles. It’s particularly effective for chronic conditions like plantar fasciitis and tendinitis, promoting faster recovery and pain relief. Shockwave treatment works by triggering the body’s natural healing process. It is totally non-invasive and often works in just a few sessions, even for long-term conditions that are highly resistant to other treatments.
Your physio will tell you if shockwave therapy is right for you.
Acupuncture involves inserting fine needles into specific points on the body to relieve pain and improve circulation. We often use it to treat issues, such as back pain, headaches, and arthritis. Acupuncture can lead to instant improvements in pain and symptoms, with effects that are often long-lasting. It is the ideal complementary treatment for a strength and mobility routine.
All of our therapists have taken additional qualifications to provide acupuncture. Your therapist will discuss this treatment with you if they feel it is suitable.
Orthotics are custom-made shoe inserts designed to correct foot alignment, improve posture, and reduce strain on all weight-bearing joints. They help alleviate pain from conditions such as foot pain, Achilles tendinitis, and arthritis. Unlike shop bought insoles, our orthotics are designed for your feet based on an in-motion scan we take in the clinic. Many of our patients report instant relief from pain and stiffness with our orthotics.
You can ask whether orthotics will help you if you have a lower limb or spine condition.
Therapeutic ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to penetrate tissues, reducing inflammation and promoting soft tissue healing. We often use it to treat muscle strains, ligament injuries, and joint problems.
Ultrasound will be offered as part of your treatment sessions if your therapist feels it will reduce the pain, inflammation and stiffness associated with your injury. It makes a great addition to many treatment plans. Your therapist will tell you if ultrasound is suitable for your condition.
